[text_output]In the spirit of Halloween and as a very mediocre New York Rangers analyst/guy who really like costumes. I feel like it is my duty to critique and deep dive this years NYR costume party.[/text_output][custom_headline type=”center” level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″ accent=”true” id=”” class=”” style=””]Michael Grabner[/custom_headline][image src=”821″ alt=”” href=”” title=”” info_content=”” lightbox_caption=”” id=”” class=”aligncenter” style=””][text_output]The only thing more terrifying than Grabner’s costume is the sheer amount of muscle on muscles he has on his body. Grabs would be 100% way more scary without the nightgown but it really makes the outfit complete. I’m always skeptical on masks, most just aren’t comfortable to wear all night at a party, you end up taking it off and it ruins the costume a bit. That said, the mask is solid, actually scary and it gives off the impression that Granber is about to HUFF AND PUFF and blow… scoring a goal on a breakaway. Love you Grabs.

Couples costumes are very hit and miss, this one hits the mark.

7/10 for Grabner and his lady.[/text_output]

[custom_headline type=”center” level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″ accent=”true” id=”” class=”” style=””]Kevin Shattenkirk[/custom_headline][image src=”822″ alt=”” href=”” title=”” info_content=”” lightbox_caption=”” id=”” class=”aligncenter” style=”width: 500px;”][text_output]My gut reaction was to call Shatty a nerd but seriously who isn’t into Game of Thrones these days. The make up detail is excellent! Look at those horns and the detail on his face, that’s serious costume dedication. What’s not so serious costume dedication is his armor. Great job on the chest plate, everything else…. well you put black on!

Points for the couples costume, points for the insane face make up, points for pop culture reference.

7/10 for the Shatty King[/text_output]

The future of the Rangers, the best line combination holding each other at a party. Be still my beating heart.

Buch is an old school mobster and is dressed to the 9’s. This is a super simple yet oddly effective costume for him. Looks great in the suit and somehow… pulls off the hat? How did he do that? #FreeBuch, kid is an absolute stud.

Mika went full nostalgia mode with the Tune squad outfit. I didn’t like it at first but now I’m all in. Space Jam is timeless, wearing all white is ballsy at a party with drinks, he’s a god damn DJ so it’s a double pun and his hair looks so damn good while doing it. Damn you Mika, you little minx.

8/10 for Buch – 9/10 for Mika[/text_output]

A friend of mine owns one of these costumes and they are hilarious. The only annoying thing about them and I’m going back to my point from earlier is that you have to wear them all night to be effective and you’re looking through plastic. They are also air powered so they make a little noise but that’s no big deal because someone running in one of these dino costumes is just pure magic. I did not see this coming from these guys, I don’t think it’s an overly original idea but it’s fun as hell.

6/10 for Skjei and Hayes[/text_output]

HENRIK LUNDQVIST IS AN IKEA SHOPPING BAG

Guys, Hank is a bag from the popular Swedish furniture store IKEA.

Let’s recap: Hank is handsome, an elite goaltender, a showman, a guitar player, Avery has said some nice things about his junk AND HES HAS FUNNY COSTUMES.

Shutdown Halloween, it’s over.

Kampfer – 6/10

Hank 30/10[/text_output]

This kid has been in America for under a month and he’s wearing a Captain America costume at a bar when he’s 18.

The future is bright my friends.

It is a nice reminder that I love this team and these players, who all did Halloween some serious justice.

I’ll leave you with this.
